Coal is, to industry, the most important, and to science, one of the most interesting of the natural products of Wales. The object of this memoir is to provide, in language intelligible to those who have no special knowledge of geology and kindred branches of science, an account of the present state of our knowledge concerning the nature and origin of coal, and its distribution in the Principality.
