Published by the East Midlands Geological Society, this book shows that Nottingham is a city built over caves. It describes their history and they many and varied use including for the mining of sand and then looks at the caves in modern times including cave collapses, building over the caves and using them as a resource. The book is well illustrated with colour photos and plans of the caves and mines.
